UNITED LEGEND HELEN DERMONDY ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE.
Helen Dermody has announced that she is leaving the club this summer.

Helen is a club legend having spent the best part of two decades playing in red and green.

Dermody announced her departure in an emotional post on her personal Twitter account last night. The player thanked the club while confirming that she has no plans to retire just yet.

Dermody leaves the Butts Park Arena just one appearance short of the 350 mark while she has netted 159 goals in a Coventry United shirt. She will go down in history as one of the club’s greatest-ever players, a true legend.

Dermody has not only played her part in Coventry United’s rise up the pyramid, she has also helped them stay in the second tier. Dermody has risen to challenge of playing FA Women’s Championship football, making 25 appearances in the club’s two seasons at that level. She has scored six goals in the second tier, a couple of which have been very memorable.

Dermody becomes the second Coventry United player to announce her departure during the close season with veteran goalkeeper Sue Wood retiring.

Dermody said: Now to find out where the next chapter of my playing career will take me. Definitely not ready to hang up those boots yet!
