Coventry United Ladies FC have signed Destiny Toussaint, who joins the Women’s championship outfit from WSL side Birmingham City Women.
The 32 year old midfielder, who has made six appearances for the WSL side this season, is Jay Bradford’s fourth signing so far during the January transfer window.
Whilst predominantly a winger, Toussaint can play in a number of positions and her versatility is something that manager Jay Bradford was keen to add to the squad.
“Destiny is a great addition and she has plenty of WSL experience. She also brings quality and I’m looking forward to getting her into the match day squad”, said Red and Green’s manager Bradford.
The experienced midfielder previously played for the club under Coventry City Ladies FC between 2012 and 2015 and has since enjoyed spells at Leicester City, Oxford United, Aston Villa, London Bees and most recently at Birmingham City.
Fresh off the back of the announcement in December which saw the three owners of Coventry firm Mirius confirm a 49 per cent stake in the club, Coventry United Ladies FC’s ambitions to turn professional by the start of the 2022/23 season are gathering pace as they continue to strengthen the playing squad. Mirius own the cleaning brand Hycolin, which is also the front of shirt sponsor for CULFC.
Coventry United Ladies FC currently sit 9th in the Championship table and return to league action next weekend when they travel to 4th placed Sheffield United.
