Maz Gauntlett has confirmed that she is leaving the Warwickshire club this summer.
The 31-year-old has spent a decade with The Red and Greens but is now moving on to a new challenge.
Gauntlett announced her departure in a post on her personal Twitter account earlier today which read
A decade of memories later and it is time for me to move on from Coventry United. Thank you to all of the staff and players that have shared this journey with me.
I look forward to what’s in store for me for the 21/22 season. Here’s to stepping into a new challenge and making new memories.
Gauntlett’s last appearance in a Coventry United shirt came against Leicester City in an FA Women’s Championship fixture at the Butts Park Arena. The player missed the remainder of the season with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury but is thought to be making a good recovery.
In her two years in the second tier as a Coventry United player, Gauntlett has made 10 appearances in the FA Women’s Championship, scoring one goal which came in that defeat to Leicester City. Her goal was certainly one for the scrapbook as she rifled the ball into the net from 30 yards.
Gauntlett joins Sue Wood and Helen Dermody in leaving this season.
